The Jazz Point Festival has celebrated its seventh edition between October 15 and 18 at The Standard Ibiza, in Vila. Seven editions is an important figure for a jazz festival on an island associated mainly with electronic music, and the competition has consolidated itself as one of the cultural events of the fall.
The opening night, Thursday 15th, served as a presentation of everything the program offered: high-level musicians, different traditions of the genre and an advance of the concerts of the following days.
The organization presents the festival as a dialogue between the creative scene of Ibiza and New York’s jazz, two very different places that share an interest in artistic experimentation. The Ibiza Spotlight chronicle, which attended the opening and closing, highlights the level of this edition.
The festival demonstrates that the island’s musical life does not end with the closure of the nightclubs and that there is also a public for other genres in the off-season.
