DJ Paulette, one of the figures of the Manchester scene, has spoken to Ibiza Spotlight about the legacy of The Haçienda before playing on Amnesia. In the third part of the interview, the DJ, writer, activist and referent from the LGTBIQ+ community reflects on the need to document club culture.

Paulette recalls that many books have been written about The Haçienda, but few signed by women. He says he doesn’t appear in Peter Hook’s famous book, «How Not To Run A Club», and that’s why he wrote his own memoirs.

He also mentions that Mike Pickering has just published his own and that Graeme Park is writing his own. For the DJ, the club’s cultural impact continues to grow.

He argues that, in the age of social media, it is important to also keep a physical record of the history of dance music.
